1. A healthy Bitlocker drive is required. If Bitlocker drive has been corrupted, try M3 Data Recovery to recover data from corrupted Bitlocker drive.

2. Have the correct password or 48-digit recovery key. It will be used to unlock the Bitlocker drive on your Mac computer. If the password and recovery key are unknown or lost, M3 Bitlocker Loader for Mac won't break into your Bitlocker drive. Refer to How to unlock the Bitlocker drive without password and recovery key.

3. The file system of an external drive must be NTFS, FAT32 or FAT32. If the file system is other type, please format it to NTFS, FAT32 or exFAT before using M3 Bitlocker Loader for Mac.

How to unlock, open, read, write a Bitlocker drive on Mac?

Step 1: Free download, install and launch M3 Bitlocker Loader for Mac on your Mac.

Step 2: Connect a Bitlocker drive to your Mac.

If you are using macOS Catalina, open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Full Disk Access > Allow M3 Bitlocker Loader.

Step 3: After inserting Bitlocker drive, click 'Ignore' button when seeing'The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer' message.

Step 4: Click Bitlocker drive in M3 Bitlocker Loader for Mac.

Step 5: Enter the password (or recovery key) to unlock this Bitlocker drive.

Step 6: Click 'Unlock' button to mount Bitlocker drive in read-write mode on your Mac.

Step 7: After completing read and write operations, click 'Lock' button in the program to lock your Bitlocker drive.

Step 8: In main interface, click 'Eject' button to safely eject Bitlocker drive from you Mac computer. Don't unplug it.

Step 1: Free download, install and launch M3 Bitlocker Loader for Mac on your Mac computer.

Step 2: Connect an external drive to your Mac computer.

External drive can be USB drive, flash drive, SD card, thumb drive, pen drive, USB stick, external hard drive. The file system of external drive must be NTFS, FAT32 or exFAT file system.

Step 3: Click Encrypt button in toolbar of M3 Bitlocker Loader for Mac.

Bitlocker To Go - a new feature of Windows 7 - is a full-disk encryption protection technology for removable storage devices, such as USB drive, flash drive.

Basically, BitLocker To Go allows to encrypt a USB drive and restrict access with a password. When you connect the encrypted USB drive to a Windows 7 computer, you will be prompted for the password. After successfully entering the password to unlock it, you can read and write to thedrive as usual.

During the encryption process, Windows 7 installs a special reader on the USB drive. When you connect the encrypted USB drive to a computer running Windows Vista, Bitlocker To Go takes control, prompts for the password, and then basically makes the USB drive a read-only device.
